What steps should be followed in applying online for a job advertised by the Public Service Commission?

The Public Service Commission of Kenya (PSC) uses an online system for applications.

Steps for online job application

  1. Register/Sign Up: If you’re a first-time applicant, you’ll need to create an account on the PSC Online Recruitment and Selection system (https://www.psckjobs.go.ke/). Visit the website and click on “Register/Sign Up”. Provide your ID/Passport number, surname, current email address, and a password to create your profile.

  2. Find the Job Posting: Once registered, log in using your ID/Passport number and password. Look for the “Advertised Jobs” section. This will display all currently available positions.

  3. Review Requirements: Carefully read the job description and requirements for the specific position you’re interested in. Ensure you meet the qualifications before applying.

  4. Complete the Online Application: Select the desired job title and proceed to fill out the online application form. This typically involves entering your personal details, professional and academic qualifications, work experience (including current or most recent), membership in professional bodies (if applicable), and referee information. You may also be required to upload additional documents like your CV or transcripts.

  5. Submit Your Application: Double-check all the information you’ve entered to ensure accuracy. Once satisfied, submit your completed application electronically.

Applying online:

  • Once jobs are advertised they are posted on our jobs portal and Website www.psckjobs.go.ke, www.publicservice.go.ke
  • Register by clicking on register link and provide the relevant details.
  • Go to the long in page and log in using your User Name, ID Number and Password as provided.
  • Click on the Apply Link and fill the prescribed PSC Application form
  • Fill all the Information and click on ‘Submit’ button to submit your application.

Tips for succesful application

  • Meet the Deadline: Each job posting will have a specific application deadline. Be sure to submit your application well before the deadline to avoid disqualification.
  • Prepare Supporting Documents: Have scanned copies of your CV, transcripts, certificates, and any other relevant documents ready to upload during the application process.
