Development of a Training Curriculum in Regenerative Agriculture
Objectives:
- Develop a localized curriculum for basic training in regenerative agriculture.
- Train key staff and TOTs on regenerative agriculture.
Deliverables:
- Curriculum for basic training in regenerative agriculture
- A PowerPoint presentation for debriefing purposes
- Training materials developed and a list of people trained.
- A final trip report detailing work completed as well as recommendations for the host organization.
Requested Expertise of Volunteer Expert:
- A master’s or doctoral degree in agriculture, or a closely related area
- Relevant experience (10 years +) in climate smart agriculture /sustainable agriculture practice area.
- A good understanding of regenerative agriculture principles and practices
- Hands-on experience in training curriculum development
- Experience working in Kenya and/or the region is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills and capacity to plan strategically and flexibly.
- Experience delivering group training.
- Sufficiently physically fit, with appropriate medical clearance.
- Writing Skills: reporting requires good computer skills including, but not limited to, working, and generating reports with MS Word. Experience with PowerPoint presentations is desirable.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills (adult education skills), ability and desire to teach in both classroom and field settings
- All F2F A2F volunteers must be US citizens or permanent residents.
Agribusiness Loan Products Development for a Micro Finance Bank
Objectives:
- Identify gaps in the current product portfolio, map opportunities and develop agribusiness loan products.
- Build capacity of MFI staff on product testing and roll out.
Deliverables:
- Summary report on trends, patterns, and insights on loan products on offer, gaps and opportunities
- Loan products developed
- A final trip report detailing work completed as well as recommendations for the host organization.
- A PowerPoint presentation for debriefing purposes
- Training materials developed, and list of people trained
Requested Expertise of Volunteer Expert:
- Degree in banking, business intelligence or analytics or equivalent with 10+ years of experience
- Relevant experience (10+ years) in Agri finance and digital finance
- Experience in rural financial product(s) development using Human-Centered Design (HCD), Agile approaches (5+ years)
- Experience in loan product testing and roll out
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills. Maximum attention to details and quality of outputs.
- Experience in providing technical support to financial service providers (Banks, MFIs, SACCOs) to develop, test, adapt and automate credit scoring scorecard solutions (5+ years)
- Familiarity and experience in working in expanding access to financial services to SMEs and implementing innovative financial products and/or facilities.
- Familiarity with the activities required for SME lending development and scaling.
- Experience in credit risk evaluation and management, especially for SMEs
- Familiarity with software/API integrations, APS systems, core banking systems, etc.
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills and the ability to handle complex tasks with tight deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
