Several parts of the country will go without power for the better part of the day on Friday, Kenya Power has announced.
The power company said the interruption is to allow for system maintenance.
Parts of Homa Bay and Nyeri will be affected by the planned power interruption.
The power interruption is scheduled to take place between 8 am and 5 pm.
Areas in Homa Bay to experience power cuts from 9 am to 4 pm are Majiwa, Masakla, Kager, Otaro, Ohero, God Kado, Kager Hills, Oneno, Ngulu, Lwanda Kodote, Ligisa, Angiro, Akado, Ndiru, Ayuyu, Otolo, Rachar, Maugo and Chiepe.
In Nyeri, areas to have power interruptions from 8 am to 5 pm include Kirigu Coffee Fact, Gatina Market, Gakuyu Secondary School, Gatina Village, Mukangu Dispensary, Mukangu Market, Mukangu Coffee Fact, Karembu Village, Matira-Ini Village, Mungetho Market, Ihiga Village, Kieni Coffee Fact, Market, Kagumolni Coffee Fact, Gathugu Coffee Fact, Gathugu Market and Mt. Carmel Secondary School.
At the same time Munengere Village, Gaturiri Coffee Fact, Kahara Village, Karogoto Market, Ngunguru Secondary School, Kahiga Village, Kiambachi Village, Ngunguru Coffee Fact, Ngurumo Dispensary, Maingirano Village, Thamaru Village and Safaricom and Airtel Boosters are set to experience power interruptions Friday.
