The UNICEF is currently seeking nine positions in Nairobi, Kenya, to support its work in Southern Africa.

Programme Budget Associate (GS-6).
The Programme Associate will support the respective section(s) by carrying out a range of program support functions to help develop, implement, and monitor the country program, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations. The internship program aims to provide a framework for students pursuing university or recently completed tertiary education to enhance their education experience through practical work assignments, expose them to the work of UNICEF, and provide UNICEF offices with the assistance of qualified students or recent graduates with specialized in various professional fields.
The Advocacy Specialist will take the lead at the regional office in designing and coordinating effective, integrated advocacy and communication strategies to support the eradication of polio and increase in routine immunization coverage across the region with focus on high priority countries. They will work collaboratively with colleagues across UNICEF at country, regional, and global levels, as well as build alliances or coalitions with external partners in the region to drive changes in policy and practice and secure political and financial commitments for children.
The Social Policy Specialist will lead technical and advocacy work on public finance for UNICEF across the East and Southern Africa region, overseeing analysis, advocacy, and capacity-building with the 21 country offices, at the regional level, as well as globally on issues related to public finance to influence how resources are generated and spent to improve the wellbeing of children.
The Programme Assistant will provide support in a range of procedural, administrative, and operational tasks to help develop, implement, and monitor the functions of the unit(s), ensuring timely and effective delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.
